Wake Forest Tournament History:

The Deacons are making their 14th appearance at the Carpet Capital
This will be Wake's seventh-straight season opening the year at the Carpet Capital
As a team, the Deacs have finished in the top-6 five times including a pair of runner-up finishes in 2004 and 2010
Individually, Wake has had a pair of medalists. Bill Haas won the event in 2002 and Lee Bedford won the event in 2010.
In 2010, Wake finished runner-up behind Bedford's victory and Evan Beck's second place finish.
Overall, a Demon Deacon has finished in the top-10 nine times in the 12 appearances.
Last season, Wake Forest finished sixth in the event behind a 14th place finish from Thomas Birdsey.

Wake Forest Notes:

Wake Forest is starting three freshmen at the Carpet Capital in Clancy Waugh, Danny Guise and Woody Woodward.
This is the first time since 1999 that three Demon Deacon freshmen have started the first event.
Senior Thomas Birdsey was second on the team a year ago with a 73.7 scoring average.
Birdsey and freshman Ben Balter both qualified for the U.S. Amateur this summer.
Sophomore Davis Womble played in nine of the 11 events last year as a freshman and finished with a 74.5 scoring average.
