PHILADELPHIA - Wake Forest men's soccer seniors Chris Duvall and Jared Watts were selected in the second round of the MLS SuperDraft Thursday.
Duvall, a defender, was picked 22nd overall by the New York Red Bulls, and Watts, a midfielder, was selected 33rd overall by the Colorado Rapids.
A native of Duluth, Ga., Duvall appeared in 74 games on the Wake Forest back line, making 65 starts. A consistent starter in all four seasons as a Demon Deacon, he tallied 11 assists while helping shore up the Wake Forest defense.
A three-year captain of the Demon Deacons, Watts is one of only two players in program history to earn First Team All-ACC honors three times. The Statesville, N.C. native started 70 games in his career and totaled five goals and 20 assists while playing primarily as a defensive midfielder.
Wake Forest had two players picked in the first two rounds for the first time since 2010 when four Demon Deacons were first-round selections - setting what was then an MLS record.
