WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest men's soccer seniors Chris Duvall, Luca Gimenez and Jared Watts have been invited to the 2014 adidas MLS Player Combine, which starts tomorrow at Central Broward Regional Park in Lauderhill, Fla.
The combine gives players an opportunity to showcase their skills to MLS personnel ahead of the MLS SuperDraft, which will start on January 16.
Duvall, Gimenez and Watts, all seniors, have played important roles for the Demon Deacons over the past four years and helped lead the Deacs to the third round of this year's NCAA Tournament.
Limited to only 15 games in 2013 due to a mid-season foot injury, Duvall made 14 starts and contributed three assists from his position on the back line. The Duluth, Ga. native started at least 14 games in all four of his seasons at Wake Forest, totaling 11 career assists.
A two-time All-ACC selection, including a first team pick in 2013, Gimenez tied for the team lead with 21 points last season and ranked second on the squad with eight goals. The Brazilian forward found the back of the net 26 times in his career, tied for the 10th-most goals by a Wake Forest player.
A three-year captain of the Demon Deacons, Watts became only the second player in program history to earn All-ACC honors three times. The Statesville, N.C. native started 70 games in his career and totaled five goals and 20 assists while playing primarily as a defensive midfielder.
