Men's Golf Maintains Lead at Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate

JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. - The Wake Forest men's golf team maintained its lead on Saturday at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate being played at Blackthorn Club at The Ridges in Jonesborough, Tenn.
Six of the 15 teams were still on the course when play was halted due to darkness. The third round will begin at 8 am on Sunday with those teams that had finished the second round. The remaining teams will finish the second round starting at 9 am.
Despite another weather delay on Saturday, Wake Forest was able to finish the second round and now holds a five stroke lead over second place East Tennessee State. The Demon Deacons fired a 10-under 278 on Saturday and stand at 18-under for the tournament. ETSU is at 13-under, 563.
Freshman Will Zalatoris continues to pace the Deacons at 10-under for the tournament after a 4-under 68 on Saturday. He is in first place overall with a two shot lead over Virginia's Denny McCarthy.
Danny Guise, Paul McBride and Davis Womble all fired 2-under 70 on Saturday. Guise is tied for fourth at 5-under for the tournament, McBride is tied for 12th at 2-under and Womble tied for 21st at 1-under. Tanner Owen was 2-over for the day and is tied for 52nd at 4-over for the tournament.
Among Wake Forest's individual players, Andrew Winters is tied for 21st at 1-under through nine holes. Cyrus Stewart and Woody Woodward are both 5-over for the tournament and will conclude their second rounds on Sunday morning.
Penn State is currently in third place at 7-under 569.
