WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Jon Bakero became the first Deacon in 11 years to score two goals in back-to-back games as Wake Forest downed Howard 4-0 on Tuesday.

The Demon Deacons (8-6-0) led 1-0 at halftime after a goal from Bakero and then scored two goals 17 seconds apart early in the second half while adding a goal with 30 seconds left to defeat Howard (2-12-2).

Bakero added an assist in the win while Hunter Bandy had a goal and an assist. Ricky Greensfelder has a goal and two assists while Jacori Hayes and Philip Parker each chipped in one assist each.

The Demon Deacons outshot Howard 23-4 and held a 7-0 advantage in corner kicks. Goalkeeper Alec Ferrell made on save in the contest while posting his second clean sheet of the year.

Wake Forest scored the first goal of the game in the 16th minute as Bakero was one-on-one with the keeper and finished a cross from Bandy. Hayes also had an assist on the goal as he fed Bandy. The Deacons had seven more shots in the half and went into the locker room at halftime with a 1-0 lead.

Wake Forest wasted no time to add to the lead in the second half as Bakero scored in the 48th minute off a pass from Greensfelder. Bakero was wide open in the box and scored a similar goal to his score in the first half.

Bandy then scored 17 seconds later as he beat the keeper one-on-one on the left side following passes from Bakero and Greensfelder.

With 30 seconds remaining in the game, Greensfelder pocketed a goal to make it 4-0 after he found himself alone in the box following a cross from Philip Parker.
