This article was originally published in the Sept. 20 edition of Kickoff, the official gameday magazine of Wake Forest football.
Q: Why did you choose Wake Forest?
A: Wake Forest is a great place for academics, and of course being in the ACC couldn't get any better football anywhere, so that was an easy decision.
Q: What has it been like shifting back and forth between running back and wide receiver during your career at Wake Forest?
A: Moving back and forth between running back and wide receiver has been different but I definitely like it. When I came here, I let them know I would play anything that they wanted me to play whether it is special teams, defense or offense. At least being on only offense, that is manageable.
Q: What was it like playing as a true freshman in 2011?
A: I believe everything happens for a reason, and I am glad that playing as true freshman happened. I'm in a class with Bud (Merrill Noel), KJ (Kevin Johnson), Ziggy (Zachary Allen), and I look up to them and everyone in that senior class. I am glad I get to go out with them and do my best. They kind of take me under like I am a little brother since I'm the youngest in the class.
Q: What do you love most about football?
A: Football is all I know how to do. It's why I wake up. God gave me some blessings, and we just have to do whatever we can with what he blessed us with and try to build on that.
Q: Do you have any pre-game superstitions?
A: I don't have any pregame superstitions. I just always pray.
Q: What has been your favorite class at Wake Forest?
A: I like my Criminology, it's a sociology class. I really like all my Communications classes but Criminology was one of the sociology classes that really made me choose sociology as my minor.
Q: What are your plans for after your football career ends?
A: I want to get into broadcasting, maybe coaching. I definitely want to try to give back to the community however I can.
Q: What is your favorite sport at Wake Forest other than football?
A: My favorite sport other than football is track. If I wasn't playing football, I would be running track.
Q: What is your favorite part about Winston-Salem?
A: My favorite part about Winston-Salem is the players on the team. We are all brothers. We all hang out. We all play Madden together, hang out, eat together. The coach doesn't even have to tell us to hang out. We know where to meet; we know when each other's classes end. This is as close as we have ever been.
