Three Deacons Earn All-ACC Honors

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Michael Gamble, Ian Harkes and Kris Reaves each earned All-ACC honors as announced by the Atlantic Coast Conference office on Thursday.

Gamble earned All-ACC First Team honors while Harkes was named to the All-ACC Second Team. Reaves earned All-Freshman Team distinction.

Leading the team in points with 22, Gamble has six goals and 10 assists this season. Against VMI on Sept. 23, Gamble scored four goals which was the most for a Wake Forest player since 1983.It was the first four-goal performance in the ACC since 2011. He was named the ACC Player of the Week and the Disney Soccer/NSCAA National Player of the Week following the performance. He is fifth in the nation in total assists and third in assists per game. It is the second conference honor for Gamble as he was selected to the All-ACC Freshman Team in 2012.

Harkes, a 2013 All-Freshman Team selection, was named to the All-ACC Second Team after another standout year for the Demon Deacons. This season, Harkes recorded two goals and three assists while anchoring the midfield. Harkes recorded a goal against UCLA in the season opener and had a goal in the win over Akron.

Reaves, a defender from Duluth, Ga., was selected to the All-Freshman team. He is one of three Deacons to start all 18 games this season. This year, he has three assists and has logged the third most time on the field with 1,452 minutes played.

Wake Forest (10-7-1) will wait to see where it plays next until Monday at 1 p.m. when the NCAA releases the bracket for the 2014 NCAA Men's Soccer Championship
