Wake Forest vs. Longwood >>
• Wake Forest will open the season at home on Saturday against the Longwood Lancers.
• Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. at the LJVM Coliseum.
Wake Forest Storylines >>
• Senior Dearica Hamby led the ACC in scoring and rebounding and set seven single-season school records last year. Hamby averaged 22 points and 11 rebounds per game and had a school-record 22 double-doubles. She scored more points, grabbed more rebounds and attempted and made more free throws than any Demon Deacon in a single-season. Hamby was just the third Deac to earn first-team All-ACC honors and she was named an honorable mention AP All-American.
• Along with Hamby, the Demon Deacons return starters sophomore Jill Brunori, senior Millesa Calicott and junior Kandice Ball.
• The Deacs open the season with four-straight home games. Wake Forest is 193-162 all-time at the LJVM Coliseum.
• Head coach Jen Hoover is in her third season at the helm of the program.
Series History >>
• Wake Forest and Longwood meet for just the second time in program history on Saturday. The Deacs won the only meeting, 57-26, at home on Dec. 30, 2007.
• Wake Forest is 31-6 all-time against Big South opponents. Last year the Deacs picked up two wins over Big South opponents, Campbell and Radford.
• Head coach Jen Hoover is 1-0 against the Lancers in her career. While the head coach at High Point, she picked up a 73-51 on Nov. 20, 2011.

• Wake Forest opens the season with four-straight home games. The Deacs will host Tennessee Tech on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
• Wake Forest is 1-1 all-time against Tennessee Tech and hasn't faced the Golden Eagles since 1997..
• The Deacs will also host Marquette and Coppin State in the season-opening home stretch. Last season Marquette topped Wake Forest in Milwaukee, Wis. to open the season. Wake Forest is a perfect 7-0 against Coppin State with all seven games being played at home.
