Wake Forest Hosts UMBC to Open NCAA Tournament >>
Wake Forest makes its 18th appearance in the NCAA Tournament as the Demon Deacons host UMBC on Thursday in the first round. Adult tickets are $7, youth/student/senior tickets are $5 while children three and under are admitted for free. A ticket is required for the hill.

Tied 1-1 at the end of two overtime periods, No. 18 Wake Forest fell to No. 17 Clemson 3-2 in penalty kicks on Sunday in the quarterfinals of the ACC Tournament.
Wake Forest took advantage of a Clemson (10-6-2, 5-2-1 ACC) own goal in the second half but the Tigers tied it up seven minutes later. Ian Harkes and Hayden Partain each scored in the penalty shootout and Alec Ferrell made one save but the Tigers advanced 3-2.

Wake Forest has now earned a spot in the NCAA Championship for the 12th time in the last 13 years and the 18th time in school history. The Demon Deacons, who earned four straight trips to the College Cup from 2006-09 and won the 2007 NCAA National Championship, are 21-14-3 all-time in the tournament.
Wake Forest is 3-3-1 in first round NCAA Tournament games.
The Deacons continue to operate one of the best offenses in the ACC and nation. Wake Forest leads in shots (291) and is second in goals (36), goals per game (2.06), assists per game (2.33) and points per game (6.44).
