Wake Forest Head Coach Danny Manning

Opening Statement...
"First of all, I would like to give a lot of credit to Iona. They came out and played a very good ball game. They shot the ball a lot better than we would have liked. They have some very talented players and AJ English is one of the better players in the country. We did not make it tough enough on him tonight. We showed some fight in the second half and got back in the game. I made a huge mistake down the stretch as I was just trying to get the clock stopped. I was trying to lengthen out the game by fouling before the ball came in bounds to save time on the clock. It is a game where if we come out and we play like we did for certain stretches in the second half it might be a different outcome. But we are not going to beat any teams if we let them shoot 48% from the field and that is something we have to get better at."

On the game play down the stretch in the second half...
"I thought we made a concerted effort to go to the glass. Our numbers have indicated that we have been a decent rebounding team. We need offensive rebounds to score. That is part of who we are right now. We did a good job late but we have to have that same mindset throughout the duration of the game."

Iona Head Coach Tim Cluess

Opening Statement
"I am just really proud of my team and how hard we played. We held a good lead for part of it, Wake Forest did a great job making a run for it this late in the game and our guys were able to survive. We are really fortune to have come on the road to play a great team like Wake Forest, and good luck with the season, you all have a great team."

On A.J. English importance in the game...
"That is what we expect out of him. He started showing out a lot last year and so that is what we expected from him this year. I took him a couple of games...he was out for a while last year and I think tonight was his big moment where were struggling but we got the ball into his hands and make plays and relax the other guys."

Difference between Iona vs. Wofford game and tonight's game...
"The way we played. We shared the ball a lot. In the Waford game we did not really compete or share the ball in that game in the second half. Tonight our guys realized that the only chance we have is to trust each other on both ends of the floor. I think it might have been our best assist game so far. We like to get close to twenty and when we do that, we have a good game."

On playing hard at the end of the 2nd half...
"Wake just said we are going to the pain and we are going to take jump shots and get all over the board. We had a number of guys in foul trouble and so we had to be careful."
