WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest senior Dearica Hamby was named to two national award watch lists this week. Hamby was named to the Wade Trophy watch list and Wooden Award watch list.

The Wade Trophy is presented to the nation's most outstanding NCAA Division I women's basketball player each year by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association to the player who not only excels athletically but also serves as a positive role model both on and off the court.

Hamby was a midseason addition to the Wade Watch List last season. She was the first Demon Deacon ever named to the Wade Watch List.

The Wooden Award was established in 2004 and is presented annually to the outstanding collegiate female basketball Player of the Year and five women All-American Team as selected by experts on the women's game from across the country.

Last year Hamby was named AP All-America and first-team All-ACC after she led the league in points (22.0) and rebounds (11.0). This season she leads the team with 25 points and 12 rebounds per game through the first four games.
