WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest senior forward Dearica Hamby was named the ACC Player of the Week on Monday after leading the Demon Deacons to two wins last week.

Hamby averaged 24.7 points and 7.7 rebounds in three games at the Cancun Challenge, including wins over Charlotte and Montana. Hamby posted a career-high 40 points on 13-of-17 shooting from the floor against Montana. She also went 14-of-16 from the free-throw line with eight rebounds and two steals in the game.

Hamby recorded her third double-double of the season against Charlotte with 25 points and 10 rebounds. She also had four assists and two steals. Hamby opened the tournament with nine points, five rebounds and two assists against Princeton. Hamby was named to the Cancun Challenge All-Tournament team.

This is the second career ACC Player of the Week honor for Hamby. She also earned the honor on Jan. 27, 2014 after she averaged 24 points and 15 rebounds in a pair of road victories over Clemson and Boston College.
