
Seven Deacons Receive All-ACC Accolades

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest nose tackle Tylor Harris and punter Alexander Kinal today were named to the All-ACC football second team in voting by the members of the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association. Five other Demon Deacons earned honorable mention.
The five receiving honorable mention include tight end Cam Serigne, linebacker Brandon Chubb, defensive tackle Josh Banks and cornerbacks Kevin Johnson and Merrill Noel.
Harris, a 6-4, 285-pound junior from Baton Rouge, La. (Episcopal) finished the season with 25 tackles despite missing the final two games of the season with a foot injury. Harris is tied for the national lead with three blocked kicks and four fumbles recovered. Against Louisville, Harris recovered three fumbles including one for a touchdown.
Kinal is a 6-4, 205-pound redshirt junior from Adelaide, South Australia, who is third in the ACC in punting with a 43.6 average. Kinal punted a league-high 81 times this season for 3,535 yards. As a team, Wake Forest leads the ACC and is fourth nationally in net punting at 42.5 yards per punt. Kinal was one of just four starting punters in the nation to not have a touchback all season.
Serigne, a 6-3, 235-pound redshirt freshman from Ashburn, Va. (Briar Woods), was Wake Forest's leading receiver in 2014 with 54 receptions for 531 yards and five touchdowns. He became the first freshman to lead the Deacons in receiving since 1991 and he broke the school record for receptions in a season by a tight end.
Chubb is a 6-1, 245-pound redshirt junior from Powder Springs, Ga. (Hillgrove), who was second on the team with 109 tackles this fall. He set a career-high with 19 tackles against Duke on Saturday after opening the season with 18 stops vs. Louisiana-Monroe. On the year, Chubb led the team with six quarterback hurries and added three sacks and 6.5 tackles for loss.
Noel, a 5-10, 175-pound redshirt senior from Pahokee, Fla., accounted for 43 tackles in 2014 and led the team with three interceptions. His picks came against Florida State, Virginia Tech and Gardner-Webb. Noel finished his career with 43 starts, the second-most ever by a Demon Deacon cornerback. He recorded eight picks during his career.
Johnson is a 6-1, 175-pound redshirt senior from Clarksville, Md. (River Hill) who posted 44 tackles and 3.5 tackles for loss as a senior. Johnson tied for the team lead with six pass break-ups. Johnson ends his career with 41 career starts and seven interceptions.
Banks, a 6-4, 260-pound redshirt sophomore defensive tackle from Apex, NC ( Middle Creek), made 36 tackles and was third on the team with 7.5 tackles for loss while finishing second on the club with 4.0 sacks. Against Utah State, Banks returned an interception 72 yards for a touchdown, the longest TD return by a defensive lineman in school history.
