Wake Forest Head Coach Danny Manning
Opening Statement...
"Tonight was a tale of two halves. I thought the first half we came out and did a very good job defensively. They missed some shots they normally make and we had a little cushion going in to the second half. In the second half they controlled the tempo in terms of making more shots. Their shooters got loose and we were very fortunate to come away with a win. I was very pleased with our effort on the defensive end."
On team's response when Bucknell closed lead to two...
"I think we responded in a very positive team manner. Guys continued to work on the defensive end, we moved the ball fairly well offensively and we just continued to battle. That was it, just go out and battle every possession. Bucknell missed some shots they normally make, no question about that. They are a much better shooting team than what they shot tonight. Some of that is they just missed looks and some of that is we played pretty good defense."
On Greg McClinton's night...
"Tonight was the best that he has played. He gave us 10 points, seven rebounds, five offensive. He was very active on the defensive end. I thought he was outstanding."
Bucknell Head Coach Dave Paulsen
Opening statement...
"This was a disappointing loss for us. I thought we came out and competed, I thought we defended and executed our game plan. Certainly have to give credit to Wake Forest. They pressured us and they have a lot to do with our offensive numbers. We had 16 turnovers and a number of point blank layups missed in a close game. This was kind of like a rock fight, when you are playing a game like that you have to convert your layups and free throws down the stretch. I was pleased with our effort, I wasn't pleased with our execution. We have a lot of work to do."
