  • Wake Forest will welcome the Notre Dame Fighting Irish into Winston-Salem for the first time when the two teams meet on Thursday.
  • The game, which is the first between the two squads as ACC foes, is schedule for a 7 p.m. start from the LJVM Coliseum.

Last Time Out

  • Junior Millesa Calicott sank two free throws with 5.9 seconds left to give Wake Forest a 65-64 victory over visiting Virginia Tech last Thursday.
  • Calicott's free throws put a cap on a back-and-forth second half that saw eight ties and seven lead changes between the two teams.
  • Junior Dearica Hamby scored a game-high 24 points and became the 23rd Demon Deacon to record 1,000 career points. She was a career-best 10-of-13 from the free throw line and grabbed seven rebounds.
  • Calicott finished the game with 12 points on two three-pointers and has now made her last 14 free throws over six games.
  • Sophomore Kandice Ball scored a career-high nine points and grabbed seven rebounds.
  • Freshmen Jill Brunori and Mykia Jones each chipped-in with eight points while Brunori dished-out a team-high three assists.

Wake Forest Storylines

  • Dearica Hamby has notched a total of 19 double-doubles this season. She is one double-double away from tying Tracy Connor's school-record of 20. Hamby became the 23rd Demon Deacon to score 1,000 career points in the win over Virginia Tech on Feb. 13, and she currently leads the ACC in scoring (21.5) and rebounding (11.0).

The Opposition

  • Notre Dame comes into the game unbeaten at 25-0 overall and 12-0 in the ACC.
  • The Irish lead the ACC in scoring and in scoring defense, out-scoring its opponents by an average of 26.3 points per game.
  • Notre Dame is led by the three-pronged attack of Jewell Loyd, Kayla McBride and Natalie Achonwa. Loyd tops the team at 18.1 ppg which McBride is right behind her at 16.9 ppg. Achonwa leads the team in rebounding at 7.7 per game and is scoring 14.4 ppg.

Series History

  • This will just be the second meeting all time between Wake Forest and Notre Dame and the first meeting as ACC foes.
  • The Irish won the only previous meeting 92-69 on Nov. 27, 2010, in South Bend.

  • The Deacons head out on the road to face Miami on Sunday, Feb. 23.
  • Wake Forest is looking for a measure of revenge as the Hurricanes served the Deacs an 84-53 defeat to open ACC play this season on Jan. 4.
