WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest will welcome ACC foe Duke to Spry Stadium at 7 p.m. on Friday evening as the Demon Deacons kick off their six-match spring schedule. Admission will be free to the general public.
The two sides played to a 2-2 draw at Duke on Oct. 25, 2013, in their last meeting. Wake Forest held a 2-0 lead with just over four minutes to play, but the Blue Devils rallied with two goals prior to the end of regulation. Luca Gimenez and Sean Okoli were the goalscorers for the Deacs while Sam Fink and Ian Harkes dished out assists.
Duke holds the edge in the all-time series between the two schools by a 23-13-8 margin, but the Demon Deacons are undefeated at home (2-0-3) since dropping a 4-3 decision on Sept. 8, 2006.
Wake Forest will be off for just over a month before resuming its spring slate with a doubleheader against Mars Hill and Charlotte on March 29. The Demon Deacons will play Mars Hill at 12 p.m. at Spry Stadium before traveling to Greensboro's Bryan Park to take on the 49ers at 7 p.m.
