CORAL GABLES, Fla. - Miami used a 12-0 run early in the second half to defeat Wake Forest 69-56 on Saturday afternoon at the BankUnited Center in Coral Gables, Fla. in both teams' regular season finale.

The Demon Deacons (16-15, 6-12 ACC) had started the game strong with hot 3-point shooting, but the Hurricanes (16-15, 7-11 ACC) took the lead for the first time midway through the opening period and never trailed again.

Coron Williams led the Demon Deacons with 17 points helped by a 5-of-8 mark from beyond the arc. Williams also tied for the team lead with four rebounds.

Arnaud William Adala Moto and Tyler Cavanaugh scored eight points each, with Adala Moto also grabbing four rebounds.

Codi Miller-McIntyre dished out six assists, hitting the six-assist mark for the third time in the last four games.

The Hurricanes turned a 38-19 advantage on the boards into 16 second chance points and shot 52 percent in the game.

The Demon Deacons started the game firing from distance, scoring their first nine points on 3-pointers - two by Coron Williams and one by Travis McKie - to take a 9-4 lead.

But the Hurricanes took over midway through the opening period, exploding for a 18-2 run that put them in front 27-16. The Deacs regained their footing as the half wore down, responding with a 7-0 run, capped off by an alley-oop from Miller-McIntyre to McKie that cut the advantage to 27-23. The `Canes got the final bucket of the period to take a 29-23 lead into halftime.

Wake Forest scored the first bucket of the second half, but Miami followed with a 12-0 run and the Demon Deacons would not get within single digits the rest of the way.
