WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest will open the Dave Clawson era this fall on national television, playing at ULM on Thursday, Aug. 28, at 7 p.m. on ESPNU. The Demon Deacons will kick off the season for the ACC as the only conference team to play on the opening night, as announced by the ACC on Tuesday.
The Deacons will be making the return trip to Monroe, La. after the Warhawks escaped BB&T Field with a 21-19 defeat of Wake Forest on Sept. 14 of last season.
Following its season opener on the road at ULM, Wake Forest will host Gardner-Webb in its home opener on Saturday, Sept. 6, at 6:30 p.m. on ESPN3. The Deacons and the Runnin' Bulldogs have met once previously on the gridiron when Wake Forest rolled to a 48-5 win on Sept. 17, 2011, in Winston-Salem.
The Deacons will hit the road once again in Week 3, playing at Mountain West foe Utah State on Saturday, Sept. 13, at 7 p.m. on CBS Sports Network. It will mark the Deacons' first meeting with the Aggies and their first-ever game played in the state of Utah.
The remainder of Wake Forest's kick-off times and television designations will be announced this fall.
