WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest women's soccer is ranked No. 14 nationally, according to the Soccer America preseason poll.
The Demon Deacons are one of eight Atlantic Coast Conference squads ranked in the top 15 of the poll. Wake Forest plays eight of the top 25 programs, including the defending national champions and top-ranked UCLA on Sept. 12.
Wake Forest opens its regular season at home on Monday (Aug. 25), welcoming Wright State to Spry Stadium for a 5 p.m. contest.
A year ago, the Deacs finished 12-7-2 and advanced into the third round of the NCAA Tournament. Wake Forest returns six starters from that team, and welcomes nine newcomers.
In other preseason polls, Wake Forest is ranked No. 10 by BennettRank and No. 21 by the NSCAA.
