Men's Golf To Host Primland Collegiate Invitational

MEADOWS OF DAN, Va. - The Highland Course at Primland, ranked as one of the top public courses in America, will play host to the Primland Collegiate Invitational hosted by Wake Forest.
"I could not think of a better place to host an event than at Primland," said Wake Forest head coach Jerry Haas. "Primland is a world-class resort and we're excited to partner with them to host a top-collegiate tournament. Their facility will allow us to bring in 10 of the top teams in the country year after year."
The two-day event, scheduled for Sept. 29 and 30, will be the first tournament Wake Forest has hosted in 28 years. It will also feature one of the top collegiate fields of the season.
The field will include:
- Wake Forest
- Auburn
- Clemson
- North Carolina
- Penn State
- Tennessee
- UNC Wilmington
- Virginia
- Virginia Tech
"We are thrilled to have been chosen as the showcase for such a talented field," said Steve Helms, Vice President at Primland. "The Highland Course has already been played by the professionals and deemed to be one of the most testing mountaintop resort courses they have faced."
The tournament will be a 54-hole stroke play event. The first and second rounds will be played on Monday, Sept. 29, with the final round being played on Tuesday, Sept. 30.
The final individual field will not be named until the week prior to the tournament.
Admission will be $10 and proceeds will go to the First Tee of the Triad, a regional charity designated by Wake Forest, which utilizes golf to teach young people, ages eight to 18, essential character traits and valuable life skills.
