WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest men's soccer junior forward Michael Gamble was named the Disney Soccer/NSCAA Player of the Week as announced by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America on Tuesday.

Gamble, a native of Columbia, Md., tallied four goals and two assists in two games last week. He had four goals and an assist in the 7-0 win over VMI last Tuesday and had an assist on Friday at Clemson. Gamble is the first Deacon to earn the award since Sean Okoli was named the NSCAA Player of the Week in 2012.

He became the first Deacon since 1983 to have four goals in a game and the first ACC player since 2011 to accomplish that feat. It was tied for second most goals in a game in school history. Gamble also had a school record 11 shots in the contest.

Gamble also had an assist in the game, feeding Hayden Partain for the fifth goal of the game which came 32 seconds after his fourth, which is the third fastest time between goals in school history. He then had an assist on Tane Gent's goal at Clemson.

He leads the ACC in points (16), shots (43), goals (6), assists (6), shots per game (5.38), points per game (2.25), goals per game (0.75) and assists per game (0.75).

Earlier this season, Gamble was named the ACC Player of the Week after having a goal and three assists in two games including two assists in the win over UConn.

Wake Forest welcomes Akron on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. and will host Duke on Friday at 7 p.m., both at Spry Stadium.
