- Wake Forest will play in front of the home crowd at BB&T Field for the first time in 2014 when it takes on Gardner-Webb on Saturday, Sept. 6.
- Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN3. The game can also be heard on the Wake Forest Sports Network and online at WakeForestSports.com.
Last Time Out
- The Demon Deacons jumped out to a 10-0 lead in the second quarter but ULM came all the way back and scored the go-ahead touchdown with 3:37 to go in the game and the Deacons fell 17-10 last Thursday.
- Freshman quarterback John Wolford made his collegiate debut and was 12-of-22 for 97 yards.
- Junior linebacker Brandon Chubb had a great game, finishing with a career-high 18 tackles.
- Cornerback Kevin Johnson scooped-up a blocked punt in the endzone for the Deacons' lone touchdown on the night. The kick was blocked by Steve Donatell.
Wake Forest Storylines
- True-freshman John Wolford was the first Demon Deacon true-freshman quarterback to start his first game on campus when he got the start last week at ULM.
- A total of eight true-freshmen made their collegiate debuts last week against ULM.
- Wake Forest is 72-38-2 all time in home openers.
- The Deacons have won their first home game in each of the last four seasons and 10 of the last 13 years.
The Opposition & Series History
- This will be just the second all-time meeting between Wake Forest and Gardner-Webb.
- Wake Forest ran past the Runnin' Bulldogs 48-5 on Sept. 17, 2011 at BB&T Field.
- Gardner-Webb opened the season with a 13-3 loss at Furman last Saturday.
- Juanne Blount carried the ball 16 times for 63 yards in the loss.

- Wake Forest will head back out on the road next week to Logan, Utah to take on Mountain West foe Utah State.
- The game is set to kickoff at 7 p.m. ET and will be aired on CBS Sports Network.
