What a night for Wolford

  • Freshman quarterback John Wolford had a tremendous night throwing the ball, finishing 30-of-38 for 291 yards and two touchdowns.

  • Wolford had a completion percentage of .789 which is the highest completion percentage by a Demon Deacon true-freshman quarterback with at least 20 attempts.

  • Running back Orville Reynolds rushed the ball a career-high 17 times, breaking his previous career-high of 16 which he set last week against ULM.
  • Matt James caught a career-high five passes for a career-high 60 yards.
  • Redshirt-freshman Cam Serigne hauled-in five passes for a team-high tying 62 yards.
  • Wide receiver Jared Crump caught a career-high six passes for a career-high 59 yards.
  • True-freshman Tyler Henderson recorded the first three carries of his career for four yards.
  • Defensively, Marquel Lee, Thomas Brown and Shelldon Lewinson each recorded the first sacks of their careers.
  • Merrill Noel recorded the six interception of his career.

Off to a good start

  • Placekicker Mike Weaver knocked-home three more field goals tonight (27, 37, 28).
  • He has now made the first four FG attempts of his career. The record for most consecutive makes to start a career is six by Tracy Lounsbury in 1969.
