WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest senior Dearica Hamby was named to the John R. Wooden Award Women's Midseason Top 20, it was announced today.
The list is comprised of 20 student-athletes who are the front-runners for college basketball's most prestigious individual honor at roughly the halfway point of the 2014-15 season. The list is chosen by a poll of national college women's college basketball media members.
Hamby was named to the Wooden Award Watch List in November along with the Naismith Trophy Early Season Watch List and the Wade Award Watch List. She was one of 25 players in the country to earn a spot on all three National Player of the Year Watch Lists.
Hamby is second in the ACC in points per game (20.7) and third in the league in rebounds per game (10.4). She leads the ACC with 10 double-doubles this season and 10 games with 20 or more points.
The senior has also climbed the Wake Forest career records this season, moving in to third place with 868 rebounds and sixth place with 1,523 points.
