
Wake Forest Loses at No. 17 Florida State

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Wake Forest lost at No. 17 Florida State on Sunday by a score of 110-80. Dearica Hamby posted her fifth-straight double-double in the loss.
Hamby finished the game with 26 points and 13 rebounds. Kelila Atkinson scored in double figures for the third-straight game with 11 points. Millesa Calicott, Nicole Floyd and Amber Campbell all finished with nine points for Wake Forest (9-12, 0-7 ACC).
On back-to-back possessions Hamby and Milan Quinn grabbed offensive rebounds and scored on the putback to stake Wake Forest to a 19-15 lead with 13:23 on the clock. Florida State went on a 14-1 run over the next three minutes to open up a 29-20 lead.
Morgan Jones made two free throws to extend the Seminoles' lead to 35-48 with 1:46 to play in the opening half. With less than one second left on the clock Ataijah Taylor drove to the basket and scored while taking a hard foul from Shakayla Thomas. She sank the free throw to complete the three-point play and send Wake Forest to the locker room trailing Florida State 51-42.
Florida State outscored Wake Forest 13-7 in the first four and a half minutes of the second half to open up a 64-49 lead. It was all the space the Seminoles needed as they went on to win the game 110-80.
NOTES:
Dearica Hamby recorded her fifth-straight and 11th double-double of the season with 26 points and 13 rebounds.
Kelila Atkinson scored in double figures for the third-straight game. She finished with 11 points.
FSU scored over 100 points in ACC play for the first time since the 2010-2011 season, a 102-93 win at Boston College.

Wake Forest returns home to host Clemson on Thursday, January 29.
Tip-off at the LJVM Coliseum is set for 7 p.m.
Clemson leads the series 49-18 but Wake Forest has won four of the last five meetings.
