Wake Forest Tournament History
• The Demon Deacons compete for the first time this week in the Nike Golf Collegiate Invitational
• The vision for the tournament is to expose the very best in men's college golf to a PGA Tour-like experience played on a major championship golf course and showcase Nike, Inc. and Nike Golf's commitment to the athlete and to the sport. The teams will have the opportunity to tour Nike's World Headquarters and attend a dinner at the Tiger Woods Center on Monday, Oct. 5th.
• The tournament marks Wake Forest's first event in Oregon since starting the 2005-06 season at the PING/Golfweek NCAA Preview in Sunriver, Ore.
Wake Forest Notes
• The Demon Deacons have a quick turnaround, heading to Oregon just days after finishing third at the Primland Collegiate Invitational on Monday and Tuesday. Wake Forest finished behind North Carolina and Auburn as weather shortened the event to 36 holes.
• Paul McBride led the Demon Deacons at Primland with scores of 68 and 67 to finish third at 9-under.
• Will Zalatoris finished T-7th at Primland after winning the Rod Myers Invitational earlier in September to post top-10 finishes in both events this season.
• The Demon Deacons' third-place finish at Primland followed their title at the Rod Myers Invitational, marking the first time since 2010-11 that they had top-three finishes in each of the first two events of a season.
