WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- On Wednesday night, D.C. United will take on the New England Revolution to open the Audi 2015 MLS Cup Playoffs. With 12 teams fighting for the title, seven players formerly of the Wake Forest men's soccer team are on rosters competing for the championship.
D.C. United: Jalen Robinson (2012-13) and Collin Martin (2012)
New England Revolution: Sean Okoli (2011-13)
Columbus Crew: Michael Parkhurst (2002-04)
FC Dallas: Stephen Keel (2001-04)
New York Red Bulls: Chris Duvall (2010-13)
Sporting Kansas City: Ike Opara (2007-09)
D.C. United, New England Revolution, Montreal Impact and Toronto FC will all compete in the Eastern Conference Knockout Round while the Seattle Sounders, LA Galaxy, Portland Timbers and Sporting Kansas City will participate in the Western Conference Knockout Round. The New York Red Bulls and Columbus Crew earned the top two seeds in the Eastern Conference while FC Dallas and the Vancouver Whitecaps picked up the top two seeds in the Western Conference. The MLS Cup will be played Dec. 6 at 4 p.m. on ESPN.
