Gamble Invited to MLS Player Combine

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Michael Gamble of Wake Forest men's soccer has been invited to the 2016 adidas MLS Player Combine in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Major League Soccer announced Friday.
Gamble is one of 59 NCAA Division I college players invited to participate at the Combine from Jan. 7-12, 2016, in front of representatives from all 20 MLS teams. Following the Combine, the MLS SuperDraft will take place on Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016, in Baltimore, Maryland.
A committee of MLS coaches and NCAA Division I coaches from every conference selected the invitees, all of whom completed their college eligibility this season. A mix of collegiate soccer head coaches and MLS Academy personnel will make up Combine coaching staff. The four Combine head coaches will include Columbia head coach Kevin Anderson, George Mason head coach Greg Andrulis, Wisconsin-Milwaukee head coach Kris Kelderman and Akron head coach Jared Embick.
Gamble is one of 11 ACC players invited to the Combine. This season, Gamble posted six goals and two assists for 14 points to cap his career with 24 goals, 20 assists and 68 points. The 68 points ties him for ninth all-time in program history while his 24 goals and 20 assists each tie him for 13th in program history.
In his career, the forward from Columbia, Maryland, was named an All-ACC performer in 2014 and 2015, garnering first-team honors in 2014. He was also named a to the 2012 All-ACC Academic team while picking up Top Drawer Soccer and College Soccer News Second Team All-Freshman awards. This season alone, Gamble was named the top player in the ACC on Top Drawer Soccer's midseason Top 20 Players in the ACC list while being named the No. 18 MLS SuperDraft prospect on SBI's list of top 30.
