InformationWake Forest Game Notes

DEACS HOST #6 XAVIER IN SKIP PROSSER CLASSIC
• Wake Forest concludes its home non-conference schedule as it hosts No. 6 Xavier in the Skip Prosser Classic
• The series honors the late coach who left a lasting legacy at both schools
• Xavier is the first ranked non-conference foe to come to Winston-Salem since the Deacons defeated No. 14 Texas 89-88 in 2004-05 and is the highest-ranked non-conference team to visit since the Deacons upset No. 3 Kansas 84-53 in 2000-01 (assistant coach Brett Ballard played in that game for the Jayhawks)
• A win would extend the Deacs' win streak to six, their longest since 2009-10

SERIES HISTORY • Xavier leads the all-time series 3-2 • The teams have split all four previous Skip Prosser Classic matchups with the home team winning each contest • The last meeting was a 68-53 Xavier win in 2013-14 in Cincinnati • The last meeting at the Coliseum was a 66-59 Wake win in 2012-13

AGAINST RANKED FOES
• The Deacons are 1-1 against ranked opponents this season, defeating Indiana and losing to Vanderbilt in November in Maui
• A win tonight would mark the first time Wake Forest defeated two ranked non-conference teams in a season since 2004-05
• A win over Xavier would mark the first top-10 non-conference win for the Deacs since a win over No. 3 Kansas in 2000-01
• Wake's last top-10 win was an 82-72 win over No. 4 Duke in the final home game of the 2013-14 season

WINNING THE CLOSE ONES
• The Deacons are 6-0 this season in games decided by six points or less
• Wake's current five-game win streak has been by a total of 23 points, the fewest combined margin of victory in five straight wins by the Deacs since 1963-64 (five straight wins by a combined 16 points)
• Wake Forest is 5-0 this season in games decided by five points or less, defeating UMBC, Indiana, UCLA, Rutgers and Arkansas, after going 5-5 in those contests last season

UP NEXT
• The Deacons conclude the non-conference schedule with a visit to LSU
• Wake will be looking for its third true road win in non-conference play, a feat it last accomplished in 2008-09
