Wake Forest Set For Surfing Santa Classic
• Wake Forest will take part in the Surfing Santa Classic hosted by FIU in Miami, Fla.
• The Demon Deacons face Hampton on Dec. 28. Wake Forest will then take on either Rhode Island or FIU on Dec. 29.
• Wake Forest played in this tournament in 2013, then called the Sun & Fun Classic. The Demon Deacons beat Florida A&M and FIU to win the tournament.
Wake Forest Storylines
• Milan Quinn has tallied four double-doubles this season. She posted career highs in points (22) and rebounds (14) in the win over Coastal Carolina.
• Sophomore Amber Campbell scored a career high 23 points in the win over Coastal Carolina. She has scored in double figures in nine of 11 games this season and in 29 of 44 career games.
• Milan Quinn leads the ACC with 9.5 rebounds per game. She is also seventh in the league with a .563 (54-of-96) field goal percentage.
• Wake Forest topped Jacksonville, 57-51, in front of a program record crowd of 8,849 fans on Monday at LJVM Coliseum. The Demon Deacons broke the previous program record of 5,342 set against North Carolina on Jan. 27, 2006.
• The win at American was Wake Forest's first true road win since Feb. 9, 2014, a 74-70 win at Pitt. The Deacs have five neutral site wins in that stretch.
• For the second-consecutive season the Deacons finished the month of November with just one loss. Last year, Wake Forest went 6-1 in the first month of the season.
• Nine Demon Deacons have seen action this season with five of them new to the program. Wake Forest has played three freshman, Ariel Stephenson, Kortni Simmons and Destini Walker, along with graduate transfer Keyonna Allen and sophomore walk-on Amber Long.
• The Demon Deacons were picked to finish 14th in the ACC this season by both the Blue Ribbon Panel and the coaches' preseason poll.
Last Time Out
• Wake Forest beat Richmond 43-33 on Dec. 20 at the LJVM Coliseum.
• Senior Ataijah Taylor scored a career-high 15 points with four assists and four rebounds. Sophomore Amber Campbell added 17 points.
• Junior Milan Quinn led the Deacs with 11 rebounds to go along with eight points.
Series History
• Wake Forest is 3-0 all-time against Hampton but hasn't faced the Pirates since a 62-49 win in 2011.
• The Demon Deacons are 2-0 against Rhode Island with wins in 1987 and 1989.
• Wake Forest is 1-2 all-time against FIU with a 86-79 win over the Panthers in the 2013 FIU Sun & Fun Classic.
Next Time Out
• Wake Forest opens ACC play at NC State on Jan. 3 at 2 p.m.
