WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest women's basketball team fell to a hot-shooting Belmont team, 78-64, on Sunday at LJVM Coliseum. Milan Quinn, Amber Campbell and Destini Walker all scored in double figures for the Demon Deacons.

Belmont extended its win streak to five games and improved to 7-1 on the year. Wake Forest dropped to 5-3.

Quinn led Wake Forest with 12 points and five rebounds. Walker came close to her first career double-double with 10 points and eight rebounds. Campbell finished with 11 points, four rebounds and two assists. Ataijah Taylor tied her career high with eight assists.

Lauren Thompson led Belmont with 14 points. Sally McCabe had 12 points and 13 rebounds for the Bruins.

Belmont immediately took a 7-0 lead in the game and retained the lead for the entire contest. The Bruins pushed the lead to 13 with 5:47 to play in the second quarter on a Darby Maggard 3-pointer that gave Belmont a 32-19 advantage.

With 2:50 to play in the second quarter Belmont still held the 13-point lead, 37-24. The Demon Deacons finished the period on a 8-0 run capped off by back-to-back layups by Walker to make it a 37-32 game at the half.

Walker picked up where she left off in the third quarter and scored the first four Wake Forest points in the second half. Belmont matched her basket-for-basket and kept the lead. The Bruins got hot from beyond the arc in the third period, going 4-of-6 to extend their lead to 61-44 heading in to the final quarter. Belmont went on to win the game 78-64.

Wake Forest has a week off for final exams before hosting Jacksonville on Monday, Dec. 14 at 11 a.m. It will be the annual School Day game at LJVM Coliseum.
