Harkes and Hayes Named to All-ACC Academic Team

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Wake Forest sophomores Ian Harkes and Jacori Hayes have been named to the 2014 All-ACC Academic Men's Soccer Team as announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon.
Both Harkes and Hayes earned the All-Academic Team accolades for the second time in their careers as a Demon Deacon.
Harkes not only earned his second All-ACC Academic selection, but was named to the All-ACC Second Team after another standout year for the Demon Deacons. During his sophomore campaign, Harkes recorded two goals and three assists while anchoring the midfield. Harkes recorded a goal against UCLA in the season opener and had a goal in the win over Akron.
Hayes started 17 games in his sophomore season scoring one goal and had six assists for a total of eight points during a stellar season the midfield. He scored his only goal of the season and tabbed an assist in the 4-1 win over Cleveland State. He also recorded an assist in three straight contests Oct.17-24 and played every minute of the ACC Tournament and the NCAA Tournament.
To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his academic career.
