INDIANAPOLIS - Wake Forest redshirt-senior Kevin Johnson turned in an impressive performance at the NFL Scouting Combine, ranking near the top of the cornerbacks in nearly every drill.
Johnson dismissed one of the criticisms scouts placed on him as an undersized corner from the first day, measuring in at 6-0 and 188 pounds, up from 175 at the start of his senior year.
He rated in the top half of defensive back in every drill he took part in, also finishing in the top-five of several.
Johnson matched the second-best vertical leap of the day, jumping 41.5 inches. His broad jump was equally impressive, measuring at 10 feet, 10 inches.
He displayed his agility in the 20-yard shuttle with a time of 3.89 seconds, the second-fastest among corners.
In the 3-cone drill, Johnson posted the fourth-best mark of 6.79 seconds.
Johnson also proved he could still run with his newly-added weight, officially running the 40-yard dash in 4.52 seconds, ranking in the top half at his position.
The Maryland native is projected as a late-first to second-round pick by draft analysts.
