Merrill Noel Inks Deal with Buffalo Bills

BUFFALO, N.Y. - Wake Forest cornerback Merrill Noel signed a deal with the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted free agent, the organization announced on Monday afternoon.
The 5-8, 177-pound redshirt-senior was a four-year starter at Wake Forest, totaling eight interceptions, 31 pass breakups and 195 tackles in 45 games, 43 of which were starts.
Noel served as a team captain his senior campaign, also playing in the Medal of Honor Bowl following the season, at which he recorded four tackles and two pass breakups.
A two-time All-ACC honoree, Noel burst onto the scene in 2011 as a consesus Freshman All-America honoree. The Pahokee, Florida native tied for the national lead with 21 passes defended, including two interceptions and a program-record 19 pass breakups, as he earned honorable mentioned All-American honors from Sports Illustrated and was named the ACC Defensive Rookie of the Year.
Noel becomes the second Demon Deacon cornerback to enter the NFL ranks this offseason. Kevin Johnson was drafted in the first round by the Houston Texans with the 16th overall pick.
