CHICAGO – Ally Haran is wrapping up her fourth national team stint, as she is attending the United States U-20 Women's National Team training camp at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, California.
The Wake Forest sophomore has previously attended camps with the U.S. U-20 and U-19 National Teams, as well as the Canadian U-20 squad.
This age group is focusing on qualifying for the 2016 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup, which will be held in Papua New Guinea. The tournament has an age cut-off of players born on or after Jan. 1, 1996, and the birth years for players in this camp range from 1996 to 1999. The CONCACAF qualifying tournament is scheduled for the end of 2015.
Haran is one of eight defenders and 24 total players at the training camp, and one of four currently playing in the ACC.
Other Demon Deacons who have National Team experience include fellow sophomore Maddie Huster and recent alumni Katie Stengel and Aubrey Bledsoe.
