Adell Harris Selected to T.W. Andrews Hall of Fame

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Former Wake Forest women's basketball star Adell Harris has been selected as a member of the T.W. Andrews High School Hall of Fame and will be honored in a ceremony on Thursday, Oct. 15.
Harris is currently the head women's basketball coach at UNC Wilmington. She was a four-time all-conference and two-time conference player of the year selection for T.W. Andrews, and finished her career with 1,746 points and earned all-state honors in 1998. She was selected as the 1997-98 Guilford County Player of the Year and earned All-Guilford County recognition three times.
Harris was named as the MVP of the 1998 North Carolina East-West All-Star Game after helping the West squad to a 63-55 victory. In her senior season, she averaged 16.0 points, 4.5 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game.
After graduating from T.W. Andrews in 1998, Harris went on to play college basketball at Wake Forest and finished her career ranked 10th on the Demon Deacons' all-time assist list. She graduated from Wake Forest in 2002 with a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology before returning to T.W. Andrews to begin her coaching career as an assistant coach.
Following one year with the Red Raiders, Harris was an assistant and associate head coach at UNC Asheville for six years before being named as the head coach at Tusculum College.
In three seasons with the Pioneers, she guided the NCAA Division II program to a 61-30 record with back-to-back South Atlantic Conference Tournament championships and three berths in the NCAA Tournament.
Named as the 10th head coach in UNCW women's basketball history on May 3, 2012, Harris will enter her fourth season at the helm for the Seahawks this year.
