Wake Forest Head Coach Danny Manning

Opening Statement...
"This is a very disappointing and tough L to take. They're all tough. To be in a situation where we have a lead for 35 minutes of a game and not come away with a win, it's just tough. A lot of people will look at the last play of the game, but to me, throughout the last five to six minutes of the game, we didn't meet the basketball a couple of times, we didn't square up strong with the basketball. We had some opportunities to go to the free throw line and knock some free throws down and we didn't do that. They continued to battle and created some good fortune."

On Virginia's 18 points in the final 1:16 of the game...
"Obviously we didn't guard well. On the flip side, we didn't take advantage of some scoring opportunities we had."

On missed free throws the players' confidence...
"I think each individual is different. I think a lot of it is based on your genetic makeup."

On how the team can respond...
"I hope they don't sleep tonight. I hope it burns. I hope they stay up all night tossing and turning. That's what I told them."

On how to not lose the locker room after such a disappointing loss...
"I don't think you lose the locker room after a loss like this because a lot of these mistakes you give Virginia credit. We talk about attention to detail a lot at practice and we have to continue to do that. We also have to get better."

On what the team did well...
"I thought we shared the ball well. The ball moved. In the first half, we were able to get the ball into the paint. I think almost all of our points in the first half resulted from getting the ball inside. We were able to swing the ball and create some offense. I thought some guys made timely shots early on and then in the second half, but all of that doesn't matter. We lost the game."

Virginia Head Coach Tony Bennett

On buzzer-beater three…
"Wake did a good job of taking our action away of where we wanted to go and it just ended up in his (Darius Thompson) hands. He hit an improbable shot and we were very fortunate."

On Wake Forest…
"Wake Forest really out played us. They did a good job and they've been close. I feel for Danny (Manning) and those guys. Wake Forest was supercharged."

On mounting the comeback…
"I think we were down 14 at one point, and we went zone. It shows you how desperate we were and how poor our defense was. It actually helped us. We just said, ‘You never know.' Credit to our guys. They showed fight in that setting. They were saying in the huddle, ‘Let's keep trying. You never know.' Deep down inside, if I'm being honest, this is not happening. I am very thankful and feel for Danny."

Wake Forest Senior Guard Codi Miller-McIntyre

On the last-second loss...
"Obviously everyone is hurt extremely bad because we're on a slump and we were up by a good amount and literally were in a slip where we gave it away. But the only way we're going to win is to do a lot of self-reflection tonight and to come in tomorrow with a positive attitude. "

On the last couple minutes of the game...
"As a whole, we thought we had won it already, but later Coach (Danny Manning) told us to finish the game because we hadn't won it yet. I think, as a whole, we all got too excited and made a lot of tiny mistakes, and had a lack of attention to the details."

On the key to the team moving forward...
"Coming in tomorrow with as much positive energy as we can will help us to move forward."

Wake Forest Freshman Guard Bryant Crawford

On moving on from the tough loss...
"We need to continue competing like we competed tonight and how we've been competing in practice lately."

On the team's reaction after the game ended...
"The locker room right now is speechless. We should have won this game."
