Deacs Look to Rebound at No. 14 Louisville
• Wake Forest looks to rebound from its 41-point loss on Thursday night when it takes on No. 14 Louisville on Sunday afternoon.
• Opening tip between the Demon Deacons and Cardinals is set for 1 p.m. on RSN at the KFC Yum! Center.
Last Time Out
• The Demon Deacons' two-game winning streak came to an end Thursday night in a 96-55 loss to No. 11 Florida State.
• FSU jumped out to an 18-2 lead in the first quarter and never looked back on the way to the victory. The 41-point loss is the largest margin of defeat in 2015-16 and the largest since falling 95-34 to Connecticut on Nov. 22, 2012, in the Paradise Jam.
• Ariel Stephenson was the bright spot for Wake Forest on the night, falling one point shy of her career high with 20 points.
Scouting the Cardinals
• Louisville has not lost in ACC play this season and is riding a 13-game winning streak dating back to Dec. 13 against IUPUI.
• The Cardinals started the season 1-4 with losses to Cal, Western Kentucky, Purdue and Dayton, but have since gone 15-1 with the lone loss coming on the road against Kentucky on Dec. 10.
• Four players are averaging double-figure points this year, led by Myisha Hines-Allen at 15.7 points per game and Mariya Moore at 13.9 points per contest. Briahanna Jackson's 12.7 points and Asia Durr's 10.7 ppg round out the Louisville attack.
Series History
• Sunday's game will mark the first-ever contest for the Demon Deacons in Louisville.
• Last season in the first matchup between the two teams all-time, Wake Forest led for most of the contest against then-No. 6 Louisville, but the Cardinals mounted a comeback and ultimately came away with a 79-68 victory at LJVM Coliseum.
• Myisha Hines-Allen led Louisville with 20 points. Amber Campbell led Wake Forest with a team-high 15 points and Dearica Hamby finished with a 14-point, 11-rebound double-double.
Finding Her Zone
• Elisa Penna was named ACC Rookie of the Week on Monday after setting career-highs last week against North Carolina and Boston College.
• Though being held to 10 points last time out against Florida State, she was second on the team behind Ariel Stephenson and has now scored in double figures in seven of her 10 career games.
• On Jan. 21 against North Carolina, Penna led Wake Forest with 18 points to set her career high. Three days later against Boston College on Jan. 24, Penna upped her career-best to 22 points in the win.
Next Time Out
• Wake Forest stays on the road Thursday night, Feb. 4, when it travels to Pittsburgh.
• The Deacs and Panthers are set to tip-off at 7 p.m. inside the Petersen Events Center.
