The Matchup
• Wake Forest closes out its three-game ACC road swing, traveling south to take on the Miami Hurricanes on Sunday at 2 p.m. on ACC Network Extra.
Wake Forest Storylines
• Wake Forest is coming off its first three losses of the season, most recently a 2-1 defeat at the hands of No. 23 NC State. The Demon Deacons scored first with a Sarah Teegarden penalty kick in the first half, but the Wolfpack scored twice in under a minute in the second half, including a game-winning PK.
• Two Demon Deacons have double-digit point totals: Maddie Huster (5 goals, 3 assists, 13 points) and Bayley Feist (4g, 2 a, 10 pts). Peyton Perea (3g, 6 pts), Caroline Wootten (1g, 3a, 5 pts), Jenna Romano (2g, 4 pts), Sarah Medina (1g, 2a, 4 pts) and Maddie Brock (1g, 2a, 4 pts) also have at least four points apiece.
• Wake Forest went unbeaten in non-conference play for just the second time in program history. The Deacs also accomplished the feat in 2013.
• In the nation, the Deacs rank 31st in shutout percentage (.545), 38th in shots on goal per game (8.09), 42nd in assists (20), 44th in winning percentage (.727), 56th in points (62) and 58th in goals (21).
Opponent and Series History
• Miami enters the game with a 7-4 overall record, including 2-1 in the ACC. The Hurricanes are coming off back-to-back ACC wins over No. 2 Virginia, 2-1, and Syracuse, 2-0.
• Two Hurricanes - Kristina Fisher and Gracie Lachowecki - lead the team with seven goals apiece. Fisher is also tops on the team with five assists and 19 points, as well as three game-winners. Phallon Tullis-Joyce has a 7-4 record in goal, leading Miami to six shutouts with her .838 save percentage.
• Wake Forest leads the all-time series, 10-2, but holds just a 3-2 advantage in Coral Gables. The Deacs have won six of the past seven games, though Miami claimed the most recent meeting in Florida, 2-1, in 2014.
• The teams have shared two common opponents so far. Florida State beat the Deacs, 3-0, and the Hurricanes, 1-0. Wake Forest beat FIU, 4-0, while Miami lost, 1-0.
Looking Ahead
