Woods Named a Nominee for Good Works Team

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Wake Forest sophomore guard Keyshawn Woods was named a nominee for the 2017 Allstate NABC Good Works Team, the National Association of Basketball Coaches announced Wednesday. The team annually recognizes student-athletes who represent the sport's finest in the areas of community service and leadership among their peers.
Woods is one of 181 student-athletes, 111 from Division I, to be nominated for the team. The voting panel, consisting of former players and coaches, will select the 10-member squad, comprised of five Division I players and five players from Division II, III and the NAIA. The team, which will be announced in February, will be invited to the 2017 NCAA Men's Final Four in Phoenix, where they will be recognized and will participate in a community service project benefitting the city.
Woods is a member of Wake Forest's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and has been selected to the ACC and Athletic Director's Honor Roll. He has participated in campus community service events such as Hit the Bricks and Project Pumpkin in addition to spending time with numerous causes throughout the community, including visits to Brenner Children's Hospital, promoting literacy with visits to local elementary schools, delivering gifts to lower income children as part of the Santa's Helpers project and participating in Eat with the DEACS, a program to have student-athletes mentor area elementary and junior high students.
On the court, Woods in the Demon Deacons' second-leading scorer this season at 13.4 points per game and leads the ACC in 3-point percentage at 64.0 percent.
