Janvion, Okonye Earn Academic All-District Honors

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Wake Forest defensive backs Ryan Janvion and Josh Okonye have each been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-District III team.
By being named to the All-District team, both student-athletes are placed on the ballot for Academic All-America honors.
Janvion, a 5-11, 200-pound senior safety from Miami, Fla. (Dade Christian), is a four-year starter and three-year captain for the Demon Deacons. He has 324 career tackles which ranks 11th in school history. Janvion carries a 3.53 grade point average in business and enterprise management.
Okonye, a 6-0, 200-pound redshirt junior from Sugar Land, Texas (George Ranch), has played both corner and safety in 2016. He carries a 3.33 grade point average in health and exercise science. Okonye has 12 tackles, ranks second on the team with three pass break-ups, and a quarterback hurry. The Academic All-America teams will be selected later this month.
