DEACS VISIT XAVIER FOR SKIP PROSSER CLASSIC
• Wake Forest concludes a span of four-of-five games on the road as it visits Xavier
• Tonight's game is the sixth edition of the Skip Prosser Classic, a series created to honor the late coach who left a lasting legacy at both schools
• A victory tonight would give the Deacs their first ranked road win since 2009-10 (at North Carolina) and would be their fourth true road win of the season (most since six in 2009-10)
SERIES HISTORY
• Xavier leads the all-time series 4-2, including a 3-0 mark in Cincinnati
• The Musketeers hold a 3-2 edge in the Skip Prosser Classic, as last year's 78-70 Xavier win in Winston-Salem marked the first road win in the series
• Bryant Crawford had 16 points and John Collins scored 11 points in last year's contest as Xavier rallied from down 18 points in the first half for the victory
LAST TIME OUT
• Wake Forest improved to 8-2 with a 78-75 win at UNCG last week
• After UNCG rallied from a 16-point deficit to tie the game in the final minute, Bryant Crawford's game-winning three pointer from beyond NBA range with 2.0 seconds left secured the Deacs' win
• Crawford finished the night with 17 points, sharing team-high honors with John Collins (who also grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds for his fifth straight double-double)
• Keyshawn Woods scored 16 points off the bench
AGAINST RANKED FOES
• Tonight's game is Wake Forest's second game of the year against a ranked opponent (lost 96-77 to No. 3 Villanova in the semifinals of the Charleston Classic)
• Last year the Deacs were 1-10 against AP ranked teams, setting a school record for most regular season contests against ranked opponents in a season (win came vs. No. 13 Indiana in the Maui Invitational)
• Wake Forest's last road win over a ranked opponent was an 82-69 victory at No. 24 North Carolina on Jan. 20, 2010
• The Deacs' last road win over a ranked non-conference opponent also came in 2009-10, a 77-75 victory at No. 17 Gonzaga on Dec. 5, 2009
THE MOST EFFICIENT MAN IN AMERICA
• Sophomore John Collins leads the nation in Player Efficiency Rating (PER), a formula ESPN's John Hollinger developed that calculates a rating of a player's per-minute statistical production. The league average is 15.00 every season.
• Collins is at 40.86 through nine games this season to lead the nation
• Since Hollinger began applying his NBA formula to NCAA stats in 2009, season leaders have included Stephen Curry of Davidson, DeMarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis of Kentucky, Kelly Olynyk of Gonzaga and Frank Kaminsky of Wisconsin
• Collins also ranks second nationally in the KenPom Offensive Ratings
• He is averaging 29.9 points and 17.8 rebounds per 40 minutes this season
UP NEXT
• The Demon Deacons return home to conclude non-conference play on Thursday by hosting LSU
• The Deacs won last year's meeting, downing the Tigers and future No. 1 overall pick Ben Simmons 77-71 in Baton Rouge
