WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Three members of the Wake Forest golf teams were honored by Global Golf Post as the publication announced its 2016 All-Am Teams, recognizing the best amateur golfers in the world. Sierra Brooks and Mathilda Cappeliez of the Demon Deacon women's team and Will Zalatoris of the Demon Deacon men's team were selected for the honor.

Brooks was one of 10 players named to the women's first team. The freshman from Sorrento, Fla., was a member of the United States Curtis Cup team and competed at both the U.S. Women's Open and U.S. Women's Amateur last summer.

Cappeliez was named to the women's second team. The freshman from Publier, France, was a semifinalist at the U.S. Women's Amateur for the second consecutive year in 2016 and finished in the top 15 at the European Ladies' Amateur.

Zalatoris was named to the men's second team. The junior from Plano, Texas helped lead the Demon Deacons to an NCAA Championship appearance before winning the Trans-Miss Championship and Pacific Coast Amateur over the summer.

The Demon Deacon men's and women's teams will both begin their spring season in February.
