Deacs Close out 2016, Nonconference Play
• Wake Forest hit the road for its final game of 2016 and nonconference play on Saturday, Dec. 31, as the Demon Deacons face James Madison. Tip-off is set for 4:30 p.m. inside the JMU Convocation Center.
• The Deacs, who are off to their best start under Jen Hoover at 9-3, are looking to move to 10-3 and match the best start for the program since the 2011-12 campaign.
• Head coach Jen Hoover returns to JMU where she served as an assistant coach from 2000 to 2002.
Last Time Out
• The Demon Deacons played in front of a near-record crowd on Dec. 21, as 5,557 fans were in attendance at the LJVM Coliseum to see the Deacs defeat VCU, 60-54, on School Day. It was the second-highest attended home women's basketball game in program history, trailing only last year's School Day game.
• Elisa Penna tallied her second double-double in as many games as she paced the Deacs with 19 points and 10 rebounds.
• Amber Campbell added 18 points and Milan Quinn hauled in 11 rebounds for Wake Forest, who improved to 7-0 all-time against VCU with the victory.
Scouting The Dukes
• James Madison welcomes Wake Forest to town with a 6-4 record, having defeated Saint Joseph's, 85-72, last time out.
• The Dukes are led offensively by Precious Hall, who averages 24 points per game for JMU while also averaging 3.9 rebounds and 2 assists per contest.
• Kamiah Smalls is JMU's other leading scorer as she adds 11.2 points per game. Da'Lishia Griffen leads the rebounding effort with 7.8 rebounds per game.
• James Madison is led by Seth O'Regan, who is in his first year at the helm of the program after being named the head coach on March 28. He had been a member of JMU's staff for the past nine seasons, ascending to the role of associate head coach in 2012 before taking over as head coach prior to the start of the season.

• The Demon Deacons ring in the New Year, and the start of ACC play, on Thursday, Jan. 5, as the Deacs travel to take on Notre Dame. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. and will be televised on ACC Network Extra.
