DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Wake Forest women's golf alumna Olafia Kristinsdottir earned her LPGA Tour card for 2017 by finishing runner-up during last weekend's LPGA and Symetra Tour Qualifying School Stage III tournament at LPGA International. She shot 12-under over the four rounds of the tournament to be one of 20 players to earn their tour card for next season.
A native of Reykjavik, Iceland, Kristinsdottir played for the Demon Deacons from 2011-14. She has been playing on the Ladies European Tour (LET) since her graduation from Wake Forest.
Kristinsdottir was one of five Demon Deacons competing in the event, but the only one to finish in the top 20. Allison Emrey finished T-55th, while Nannette Hill, Natalie Sheary and current Deac Sierra Sims didn't make the cut. The four who didn't qualify for the LPGA Tour earned a Symetra Tour card for reaching Stage III of Q-School.
