WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. --
The Wake Forest men's basketball team used a big first half to snap an 11-game losing skid, defeating Boston College, 74-48, at the LJVM Coliseum on Sunday evening. Making his first-career start, freshman Doral Moore led five Demon Deacons in double figures with a career-high 19 points. He also had seven rebounds, three blocks and a pair of steals.

The win lifted the Demon Deacons' record to 11-16, including 2-13 in the ACC.

Joining Moore in double figures in points for the Deacons were Codi Miller-McIntyre with 14, Bryant Crawford with 12 and John Collins and Mitchell Wilbekin with 11 each. Miller-McIntyre paced the Deacs with nine rebounds and seven assists.

Boston College won the opening tip, but could not convert on two field-goal attempts in the first 16 seconds and Wake Forest seized control from there. Three consecutive dunks by Moore and a Crawford 3-pointer sparked a 14-0 run to start the game.

The Demon Deacons held the Eagles off the board for the game's first seven minutes as the visitors missed their first 12 field-goal attempts. An Eli Carter jumper put Boston College on the board with 12:50 to play in the first half, but the Deacons reeled off 15-straight points to extend their lead to 29-2.

The big opening-stanza run for the Deacs finished at 37-4, giving them their biggest cushion of the season, with 3:35 to go. A Carter buzzer-beater from long-range made the Deacs' lead 41-14 after 20 minutes.

Wake Forest held its opponent to under 20 points for the first time since 2012. The Eagles' 14-point output was tied for the fourth-fewest ever in a half by a Demon Deacon opponent.

The teams played closer in the second half, but the Deacons never led by fewer than 21 points en route to the 26-point triumph.

The Deacs finish a three-game homestand with a game against No. 19 Notre Dame on Wednesday at 9 p.m. and a Sunday meeting with Virginia Tech at 6:30 p.m. They close out the regular season on March 1 at 20th-ranked Duke.

DEACS SNAP STREAKS IN A BIG WAY
• The Deacs broke an 11-game losing streak, the second-longest in school history. They broke an 11-game ACC losing streak, also the second-longest in school history.
• Wake Forest also found its fire again at home, ending a four-game home losing streak.
• The 26-point margin was the largest of the season, and the largest victory for Wake Forest since Nov. 24, 2014 vs. Nicholls. The Deacs' largest margin of victory this season was 10 in an 81-71 win over UNC-Greensboro on Dec. 15.
• The margin of victory was the Deacons' largest over an ACC opponent since an 85-56 triumph over the Eagles on Feb. 25, 2012.
• Sunday's game was the first this season in which the Deacons never trailed.

STRONG START
• Wake Forest dominated the game from the very beginning, coming out of the gate with a 14-0 run. Over the first 12:52 of the game, the Deacons had a 29-2 advantage.
• Wake Forest's 33-point lead with 3:35 left to go in the half was its biggest of the season. The previous high was an 18-point lead against Xavier on Dec. 22.
• Freshmen scored the first nine points of the game for the Deacs as well.

DORAL'S BIG NIGHT
• Tonight marked freshman Doral Moore's first-career start. Moore took full advantage of the opportunity, scoring the first six points of the game on three dunks.
• He finished the game with a career-high 19 points and three blocks and tied his career high for rebounds with seven. He went 7-for-8 from the field.

STIFLING DEFENSE
• Boston College was held scoreless for the first 7:08 of the game, the best defensive performance to open a game this season for Wake Forest.
• Wake Forest held Boston College to 17.2 percent shooting from the field, the lowest since the Deacons held Bucknell to 15.4 percent on Dec. 22, 2014.
• The Deacons also held the Eagles to 14 total points in the first half, the first time since 2012 that Wake Forest held a team to under 20 points in a half (Georgia Tech).
• That total was the second-lowest total in a half ever at LJVM Coliseum. The Deacs held Campbell to 13 on Dec. 9, 1989.
• Wake Forest forced the Eagles into 18 turnovers on the night, the most the Deacs have forced all season.

FRESHMEN LEAD THE OFFENSE

John Collins matched his career ACC high in points with 11. He reached double digits in points for the 11th time this season, all off the bench, and for the third time in ACC play.
• In total, Wake Forest's freshmen accounted for 42 points, just six shy of Boston College's total score.
