WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Wake Forest men's basketball team announced Thursday (Mar. 17) that it will make an international trip to the Bahamas in August. The Demon Deacons will play three games while visiting Nassau from August 15-20.
Wake Forest will play games against teams composed of members of Bahamian National Teams on August 16, 17 and 18 at the Kendal Isaacs Gymnasium, located in the Queen Elizabeth Sports Centre in Nassau. While in the Bahamas, the team will stay at the Atlantis Paradise Island Resort.
NCAA basketball teams are allowed to take an international tour to play exhibition games once every four years and are permitted 10 practices to prepare for the trip.
The trip will mark the Demon Deacons' third trip to the Bahamas. Wake Forest went on an international tour to the island nation in September, 2006, winning a pair of games. The team also competed in the Bahamas during the 2013-14 regular season with a sixth-place finish at the Battle 4 Atlantis.
Fans wishing to attend the games can arrange travel packages by contacting Lea Miller at lea.miller@leamillerassociates.com or 404-668-7468.
