WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Registration to be a ball kid for the Wake Forest men's and women's soccer programs this fall is now open to boys and girls that will be in fifth to eighth grade this fall.
The official ball kid program offers the chance to be on the sidelines for home Wake Forest soccer games throughout the fall, an official ball kid jersey, a 2017 soccer camp discount, an exclusive chance to meet members of both the Demon Deacon men's and women's soccer teams and season passes for immediate family members.
Throughout the season, ball kids will assist the flow of each game at Spry Stadium by being placed around the sidelines on the field. A ball kid is responsible for feeding soccer balls to players to put the ball back in the field of play if it goes out of bounds and is responsible for collecting any loose balls that go out of bounds.
Ball kids will not be required to be at every game, but assigned approximately five regular season games with added games during postseason play. Families that register through the website will get an email with tryout information the week of July 18. Tryouts for the 2016 season are set for July 27 at Spry Stadium.
Pre-registration to try out to be a ball kid is required and space is limited. To register, visit WakeForestSports.com/soccerballkids. With questions, please email wfsports@wfu.edu with the subject "Soccer Ball Kids."
