GREENSBORO, N.C. – Wake Forest senior Davis Womble was named to the 2015-16 All-ACC Academic Men's Golf Team, as announced by the conference on Tuesday (June 21). It marked the fourth consecutive year that Womble received the honor.
Womble was second on the team this season with a 71.87 stroke average as the Demon Deacons finished 23rd at the NCAA Championship. He had two top-5 and four top-10 finishes during the season, including a fourth-place individual finish at the ACC Championship. Womble was the low Deac at four of the team's eight tournaments this spring.
Womble, a native of High Point, graduated last month with a degree in finance.
Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career for undergraduate students. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.
