The Matchup
• Wake Forest hits the road for its second and final road non-conference game, traveling to in-state foe UNCG for a 4 p.m. contest on Sunday afternoon.
Wake Forest Storylines
• By outscoring opponents at a margin of 7-1 through the first three games, Wake Forest is 3-0 for the first time since 2013, the last year the Deacs made the NCAA Tournament.
• Wake Forest earned five points (35th-most) in this week's NSCAA poll, marking the first time the Deacs have received votes since Sept. 2, 2014. The Deacs are also ranked ninth in the Southeast Region, trailing eight other ACC foes.
• Maddie Huster tied the program record for goals in a game by becoming the ninth Deacon all-time to record a hat trick in the 4-0 win at FIU. She also added an assist to give her seven points, second-most in a game all-time.
• Lindsay Preston has a 3-0 record in goal with a .909 save percentage and 0.40 goals-against average, recording her seventh career shutout against La Salle.
Tony's 20th
• Head coach Tony da Luz enters his 20th season at the helm of the Demon Deacons. His teams have reached the NCAA Tournament in 17 of his 19 years, and he has been the head coach for 19 of the program's 22 seasons. He has a 275-183-41 record all-time, including 230-142-38 at Wake Forest.
• Da Luz opened the season against his alma mater, San Diego, where he was a two-time All-WCC honoree. Following his graduation in 1985, he was an assistant coach on the men's team until 1991 before starting a women's program from the ground up. He coached the Toreros for five seasons before coming to Wake Forest, recording a 46-42-3 record.
Opponent and Series History
• UNCG also enters the contest undefeated with a 2-0-1 record. The Spartans are yet to surrender a goal, playing High Point to a scoreless draw in their opener before beating Tennessee Tech, 3-0, and Elon, 1-0. UNCG finished 2015 with a 9-9-3 record.
• Wake Forest holds a 12-3-1 advantage all-time in the series, but the Spartans have claimed wins in two of the last three meetings. Wake Forest has never lost at UNCG though, most recently claiming a 5-0 road win in 2011.
Looking Ahead
• Wake Forest returns home for the Deacon Challenge presented by The Loop Pizza Grill, playing Dartmouth on Friday at 7:30 and New Hampshire on Sunday at 2 p.m.
